West Ham United were on the wrong end of a decisive refereeing decision for the second game running on a tropical day against Leicester City at the London Stadium.
The two sides contested a fiery game in… fiery weather conditions as Michail Antonio’s first-half header was ruled out by Jamie Vardy’s 67th-minute strike.
Substitute Lucas Perez thought he’d won the game after scoring off the bench in the final 10 minutes, before his second of the day was wrongly ruled out for an offside, similarly to Felipe Anderson at Manchester United last weekend.
Shortly after that controversial decision, Leicester substitute Harvey Barnes went down the other end and slotted home an equaliser for the visitors in stoppage time.
A bright, shiny day in Stratford is a stark contrast of the Hammers’ recent results and it’s now four games without a win for Manuel Pellegrini’s men.
The West Ham supporters used our duel to vote for their top performers after full-time though, and here’s who came out on top.
5 - Declan Rice
Made four interceptions in front of the defence and kicks off the countdown with 57%.
4 - Felipe Anderson
Looked the hosts’ most dangerous players for large parts, making two key passes, successfully dribbling past eight players and winning 13 duels. He earns 59%.
3 - Arthur Masuaku
Made two interceptions and won seven duels behind Anderson – he’s third with 63%.
2 - Mark Noble
Fit in well alongside Snodgrass in a central role behind Arnautovic up top and claimed an assist to his name from one of two key passes. 76%.
1 - Michail Antonio
A conclusive Man of the Match with 91%. Not only did he open the scoring, but he also had a bit of fun on the London Stadium’s new claret turf around the pitch afterwards. A great character.
