# West Ham’s Byram returns for Forest after eight months out

West Ham United defender Sam Byram returned to action for loan club Nottingham Forest after missing eight months, as reported on [Football London](https://www.football.london/west-ham-united-fc/players/west-ham-defender-makes-first-16106586).

The full-back joined the Championship club on a season-long loan deal last summer but suffered a knee injury in August.

Byram was eased back from his injury by playing some U23 matches but on Tuesday night, he started for Forest against Sheffield Wednesday.

The 25-year-old played the full 90 minutes and despite losing 3-0, many people were impressed with the full-back’s performance.

After the game, Byram said:

> I felt fit and it’s good to be back.

The full-back will be hoping to stay at West Ham next season and fight for a starting place under manager Manuel Pellegrini.
