# Pellegrini hints Arnautovic could be fit to face Liverpool

West Ham United manager Manuel Pellegrini has revealed that Marko Arnautovic is “improving” after suffering an injury in the 3-0 defeat to Wolves on Tuesday night.

As reported on the [Metro](https://metro.co.uk/2019/02/01/manuel-pellegrini-gives-marko-arnautovic-injury-update-ahead-liverpool-clash-8425357/), the forward was forced to hobble off the field and was later spotted leaving the Molineux Stadium on crutches with a brace around his right foot.

However, after further scans, it was revealed that he had not broken his foot, but he did have heavy bruising and swelling.

The Austrian is now in a race against time to be fit for Monday night’s match against Liverpool at the London Stadium.

Pellegrini said:

> Arnautovic is improving.

> The problem he had in the last game, we will see when he arrives on Monday if he is able to play \[against Liverpool\].

> Next day we will be clear a little bit more about his position.

The former Stoke City forward looked certain to be leaving the Hammers for the Chinese league in January before making the decision to stay in London.
