# Arnautovic injury not as bad as first feared

West Ham have received some good news after it was revealed that forward Marko Arnautovic has not broken his foot, according to [Football London’s](https://www.football.london/) West Ham reporter [Sam Inkersole](https://twitter.com/Sam_InkersoleTM/status/1090636251844222976).

The Hammers feared that the Austrian striker had picked up a serious injury that would have seen him miss a large chunk of the remainder of the season.

The forward suffered the injury in the 3-0 defeat to Wolves in the Premier League on Tuesday night and was seen leaving the Molineux on crutches with his right foot in a brace.

However, it is now understood that Arnautovic’s right foot is only bruised and has heavy swelling, with no broken bones.

West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini has been forced into negotiating some late deals due to uncertainty over Arnautovic’s fitness and the Hammers are expected to bring in a striker before the transfer window closes tomorrow.

The 29-year-old striker looked set to leave the London Stadium but decided against a move to China and signed a new one-year deal with the Hammers.
