# Balotelli to undergo Marseille medical amid West Ham links

Mario Balotelli looks set to complete a transfer to Marseille despite recent speculation [linking him with a move](https://readwestham.com/2019/01/18/balotelli-linked-with-shock-west-ham-switch/) to West Ham United.

The Italian international has seen his future come under intense scrutiny in past weeks, with reports recently claiming that the London Stadium had emerged as a potential destination for the player.

However, the former Liverpool and Manchester City forward appears to be closing in on a permanent switch to Marseille.

West Ham had [reportedly made a last-gasp swoop](https://readwestham.com/2019/01/22/west-ham-make-last-minute-bid-to-sign-balotelli/) in an attempt to land the OGC Nice star this month but appear to be set for disappointment, with the forward closing in on a move to Rudi Garcia’s side.

The 28-year-old has made only nine starts in Ligue 1 this season.
