Premier League club West Ham United are still in talks with Turkish side Besiktas regarding midfielder Gary Medel, according to a report on the Daily Mail.
The Turkish side turned down a £6.5m offer from the Hammers earlier this month but the London side still believes that they can agree on a deal to sign him.
The player himself is said to be keen on making the move to the London Stadium in January.
The Chile international played 34 times for Cardiff in the Premier League during the 2013/14 season and wants to play in the top flight again.
West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini is understood to be a big fan of Medel and wants to sign him to boost his midfield options for the second half of the season.
Medel only joined Besiktas in 2017 and has been a key figure for them ever since but he is now keen to explore his options.
The Hammers may need to offer a slightly higher sum of money to convince Besiktas to sell him.
