# West Ham face stiff competition for Brahimi’s signature

Premier League club West Ham United are currently monitoring the situation of FC Porto’s attacking midfielder Yacine Brahimi, according to a report on [HITC](https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2018/11/12/report-everton-west-ham-and-newcastle-want-to-snap-up-yacine-bra/), who quote Portuguese news outlet [O Jogo](https://www.ojogo.pt/futebol/1a-liga/porto/noticias/interior/brahimi-continua-a-estar-no-centro-de-rumores-agora-tres-clubes-de-uma-vez-10162597.html).

The midfielder can also operate as a winger and is the subject of interest from several Premier League sides, including Everton and Newcastle United.

He is currently in the final year of his contract with the Portuguese club and at the moment, it doesn’t look likely that he will extend his stay with the Champions League club.

This has alerted the Hammers to a potential move for a very experienced player, and with Brahimi still only 28-years-old, he still has several years left at the highest level.

The Algerian international has managed to find the net 44 times for Porto since joining them in 2014. Brahimi can be argued to be similar to Joao Mario, who was on loan at the Hammers last season from Inter Milan.

Manuel Pellegrini will certainly be keeping an eye on Brahimi but must act quickly, as Brahimi is open to negotiate terms with foreign interested clubs in January.
