# Joao Mario rejected offer to join Fulham

Former West Ham United loanee Joao Mario rejected the chance to join Fulham during the summer transfer window, according to a report on [Talksport](https://talksport.com/football/440135/inter-milan-joao-mario-fulham-west-ham/).

The midfielder enjoyed a good loan spell with the Hammers last season and returned to his parent club Inter Milan in the summer.

Various European clubs were pursuing Mario but he opted to remain with the Italian giants to fight for a first-team position.

The 25-year-old played 13 times in the top flight for West Ham, with many fans hoping that the club signed him on a permanent deal.

Reports in Italy are suggesting that Mario was a top transfer target for Fulham, who made multiple big signings after securing promotion to the Premier League.

But, Mario seemingly wasn’t interested in the London club’s offer and is looking for more first team opportunities at the San Siro. He has played once in the Italian Serie A this season.
