# Noble reveals how Pellegrini inspired West Ham’s win over Everton

West Ham United captain Mark Nobles has revealed that Manuel Pellegrini used three words during the half-time interval to inspire the Hammers to a 3-1 victory at Goodison Park, according to a report on [HITC](https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2018/09/21/mark-noble-shares-west-ham-united-boss-manuel-pellegrinis-team-t/).

The London club went into the break with a 2-1 lead and were on the back foot as Everton had scored just before the interval.

But Noble revealed that Pellegrini made sure that the players kept calm and got themselves together again before the second period.

Noble said:

> What pleased me most, though, was the way we reacted in the second half after Everton scored to make it 2-1 right on half-time.

> We had played well in the first 45 minutes and the manager said, “Relax, calm down” and told us to keep playing the way we had been – and we did that.

The Hammers face a difficult test against Chelsea at the London Stadium this weekend but the players are in a confident mood heading into the London derby.

After losing their first four Premier League matches, Pellegrini was adamant not to change the style of play and his players proved that his system will work by beating Everton. They will need to be more cautious against Chelsea but are expected to cause the Blues some problems at the back.
