# Pellegrini provides update on extent of Arnautovic injury

West Ham United manager Manuel Pellegrini has revealed that he is still unsure whether the injury suffered to Marko Arnautovic on Sunday is serious or not, according to a report on [HITC](https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2018/09/17/west-ham-boss-manuel-pellegrini-responds-when-asked-whether-mark/).

Arnautovic scored West Ham’s third goal of the afternoon just after the hour mark but his match was cut short as he was forced off the pitch with a knee problem.

Pellegrini’s side defended well to secure a 3-1 victory at Goodison Park and lift themselves out of the relegation zone with their first win of the season.

The Austrian is one of the Hammers’ key players and Pellegrini is anxiously waiting to see just how serious the problem is.

When he was asked following the victory about the extent of the injury, he said:

> We’ll see. I can’t tell you now if it is or it’s not. It’s behind his left knee, he felt something. Tomorrow we have a recovery day and we will see what happens after that.

The former Stoke City forward is expected to rest today and will then undergo further tests on his knee to determine how bad the injury is.

The fact that the player and manager are both still unsure is a cause for concern for West Ham fans.
