Michail Antonio is certain that West Ham can provide their fans with something to cheer about when they make the trip to Everton on Sunday.
The versatile forward spoke ahead of his side’s Premier League encounter with the Toffees at Goodison Park and highlighted the importance of repaying the fans’ patience.
West Ham have endured a treacherous start to the new season. They have lost their opening four Premier League fixtures and are rooted to the bottom of the table, in dire need of a win.
Antonio, as quoted by the Evening Standard, told West Ham’s official club website that he remains confident that the team can turn their poor form around to reward the supporters with some much-needed inspiration.
We will go to Everton and play our game and play the best we can. We need the fans to stay behind us and our away fans always do that. They are always there and always singing for us and I am sure we can reward them on Sunday.
We know anyone in the Premier League can beat anyone and it’s unpredictable. We definitely believe we can go to Goodison Park and get the three points there that will really kick-start our season.
The 29-year-old has been in and out of Manuel Pellegrini’s starting line-up at West Ham since his appointment, with Antonio continuing to work his way back to full fitness.
