West Ham’s Manuel Lanzini has expressed his delight to be back at the club as he continues to work his way to full fitness.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Lanzini refused to put a timeframe on his return to action, but he could not hide his delight as it edges ever closer.
The Argentinian is unlikely to play again this year, but January has been discussed as a potential period in which Lanzini could make his return to the pitch.
I missed West Ham, I missed the players, all the West Ham staff and the training ground, so I’m happy to be back. Now, I am feeling good. It was very hard when my knee was broken before the World Cup but now I am thinking of the future and now I am happy.
A long-term knee injury has kept him out of action for the past three months, in which time he has been working on his rehabilitation from the sidelines.
Lanzini has previously been working with the highly-respected orthopaedic surgeon Dr Ramon Cugat in Barcelona as part of his road to recovery.
