Middlesbrough are ready to hijack Nottingham Forest’s deal for defender Sam Byram from West Ham, according to the Mirror.
Nottingham Forest boss Aitor Karanka had been confident about securing a deal for the defender, however, it now looks like Tony Pulis is interested in a swoop for Byram.
Bryam hass been out of favour at West Ham for some time, and has never really had consistent first team football since his move from Leeds United.
Pulis is offering the defender a starting role in his Middlesbrough side that is looking to secure promotion back to the top flight.
Boro beat Sheffield United 3-0 on Tuesday night after a disappointing draw with Millwall on the opening day.
They are now looking to secure a deal for Byram, as they look to strengthen ahead of their promotion campaign.
