# West Ham have discussed move for Thiago Maia

West Ham have staged negotiations with LOSC Lille in recent times regarding a potential deal for Thiago Maia.

The Brazilian midfielder appears to be set for an exit from Lille in the near future and it seems Premier League clubs have been chasing his signature, with GFFN indicating that West Ham and Newcastle United are keen.

The Hammers are allegedly keen to recruit a new holding midfielder in the final stages of the transfer window, and it seems a transfer involving Maia could be a genuine possibility.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side have completed several signings this summer and are believed to have spent in excess of £90 million.

However, following the departure of Cheikhou Kouyate to Crystal Palace last week, the club could look to get another deal over the line, with the summer transfer window drawing to its close.
