# West Ham’s Yacine Brahimi move falls through

Yacine Brahimi has turned down a deal to join West Ham this summer, as he sets his sets on a bigger Premier League move.

[According to Portuguese outlet Record, as cited on the London Evening Standard,](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news-rumours-live-arsenal-manchester-united-latest-plus-chelsea-to-hijack-tottenham-jack-a3901936.html)the player fears that a move to the London Stadium would hinder his chances of completing a switch to team higher up the table.

The player worries that a long-term deal in London could potentially price him out of a move to top tier Premier League side going forward.

Brahimi has long been linked with a move to the Premier League, but a deal has never materialised.

[Reports emerged this morning that suggested](https://readwestham.com/2018/08/02/hammers-looking-to-secure-deals-for-marega-brahimi-and-joao-felix/) that West Ham would send officials to Portugal to negotiate a deal for the winger.

The Hammers are hoping to land a number of deals in Portugal following the news that Xande Silva [is due to join the club](https://readwestham.com/2018/08/01/xande-silva-to-have-west-ham-medical-on-wednesday/).
