# West Ham have reportedly made big bid to sign Yerry Mina

West Ham are reportedly stepping up their interest in signing Yerry Mina from Barcelona this summer.

The Hammers, like several other Premier League clubs, have been heavily linked with a move for the centre-back following his impressive campaign at the World Cup this summer.

Mina was a standout performer for Colombia and is likely to leave Barcelona this summer, with the La Liga champions looking to cash in on their young defender.

It was reported earlier this week that West Ham had merely expressed an interest in signing Mina from Barcelona. However, fresh claims from [Spanish news outlet Sport](https://www.sport.es/es/noticias/barca/yerry-mina-con-destino-premier-league-6942468) indicate that they have already made a substantial bid.

The report claims that West Ham have made an offer worth ‘above €30 million’ for the ex-Palmeiras star, who is set to be hot property this summer.

West Ham may be on the lookout for a new central defender ahead of next season following the news that Winston Reid will miss at least three months of action. The club have recently been linked with a deal to bring Jamaal Lascelles in from Newcastle United, too.

If the Hammers are serious in their pursuit of Mina, however, it seems they will need to act fast. Sport claim that both Everton and Leicester have made similar offers for the centre-back.
