# Leeds join race to sign Hugill

Leeds United have joined the race to sign West Ham forward Jordan Hugill on loan for next season.

[According to the Yorkshire Evening Post,](https://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/sport/football/leeds-united/championship-rumour-mill-leeds-united-target-out-of-favour-west-ham-striker-1-9240665) Leeds are plotting a loan swoop for Hugill.

The report claims that Leeds have joined the race and are considering an offer for the striker in the coming weeks.

QPR are thought to be the favourites for Hugill at this time, with Preston and Sheffield Wednesday also having been linked.

Hugill joined West Ham from Preston in January for a fee in the region of £7m, with The Hammers planning for a possible relegation.

The club avoided the drop and are now looking to loan Hugill out to the Championship.

The 26-year-old scored eight goals in 27 Championship appearances for Preston last season, after scoring 12 league goals in the 2016/17 campaign.

He was only able to make three Premier League appearances after his move to West Ham.
