# West Ham make £27m bid to sign Alassane Plea

West Ham United have reportedly made a club-record move to sign Alassane Plea from OGC Nice this summer.

A number of clubs across Europe are understood to be keen on acquiring Plea this summer, but West Ham have made a substantial bid for the player and at a valuation which was [quoted as Nice’s asking price](https://readwestham.com/2018/07/01/ogc-nice-slap-e30m-price-tag-on-west-ham-target-plea/).

Manuel Pellegrini is set to add a striker to his West Ham squad for next season as he aims to help the club build on their narrow escape from relegation last term.

Plea found the net on 20 occasions in all competitions last term and has overcome injury woes in previous years to flourish in his homeland of France.
