West Ham face competition for Touré signature
West Ham are interested in bringing Yaya Touré to the London Stadium this summer, but face competition from France and China, according to GFFN.
Different sources have claimed this week that either Manuel Pellegrini is or is not interested in pursuing a deal for former Manchester City powerhouse midfielder Touré, and this latest story paints the Chilean as a fan.
The Ivorian is set to leave Manchester City after eight years at the club, and the Hammers are ready to offer him an opportunity to remain in the Premier League.
However they face competition from Marseille, with L’Équipe claiming that sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta has reached out to the 35-year old to discuss a potential move.
Chinese clubs are also interested in Touré, but GFFN claim he is not particularly interested in a move to the Chinese Super League.
While 2018 Europa League finalists Marseille offer Touré the prestige switch and a return to European football, it is unlikely that the club will be able to meet the player’s wage demands unless he is willing to undergo a pay cut.
