# Hart set to miss out on World Cup place

Joe Hart is likely to miss out on a place in the World Cup squad this summer, according to the [Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/england-set-ditch-joe-hart-12282980).

The report claims that Jordan Pickford and Jack Butland will battle it out for the number one spot.

While Nick Pope or Tom Heaton will be installed as England’s number three this summer.

Hart was one of four goalkeepers named in the England squad for the recent friendlies against the Netherlands and Italy, but he failed to feature in either game.

Pickford impressed against the Netherlands and has seemingly won the race to start for England in Russia.

After falling out of favour at West Ham, Hart has found game time hard to come by this season.

Gareth Southgate has vowed to pick his team based on form, making a place in the squad unlikely for Hart.

David Moyes has preferred Adrian during the second half of the season at the London Stadium.
