# West Ham still an option for Mangala

Despite Everton looking the likely move for Eliaquim Mangala, the Guardian believe that West Ham, along with Newcastle United are still potential destinations for the French defender, cited by [GFFN](https://twitter.com/GFFN).

Manchester City announced the signing of Aymeric Laporte on Tuesday from La Liga side Atletico Bilbao and that move has meant that Mangala is likely to head out on loan to gain more regular first team football.

Hammers boss David Moyes is set to be a busy man on deadline day as he looks to add to his squad, and Mangala is on Moyes’ radar, however, the player still looks likely to remain in the North West with Everton.

The 26-year-old joined City from FC Porto back in 2014 for a fee worth £42 million, however, has failed to live up to his price tag and has since spent a year in La Liga with Valencia.
