The Hammers are in the market for a central midfielder after Pedro Obiang was injured during the FA Cup defeat to Wigan at the weekend.

Leander Dendoncker has also been discussed as a possible transfer target, with the Belgian able to play either in defence or midfield.

Schneiderlin has been a long-term target for West Ham, who tried to sign the player when he initially left Manchester United.

The French midfielder has been in and out of the Everton squad this season, starting just 16 times in the Premier League.
