# West Ham make ‘initial contacts’ over move for Pelle

West Ham are reportedly looking to land former Southampton striker Graziano Pelle this month.

David Moyes is said to be on the lookout for another attacker to add to his current options, with Diafra Sakho apparently edging ever closer to securing a move to Ligue 1 outfit Rennes.

It’s claimed by [Di Marzio](https://gianlucadimarzio.com/en/west-ham-initial-contacts-for-graziano-pelle-the-situation) that the Hammers have made ‘initial contacts’ with Chinese Super League club Shandong Luneng over a move for Italian international Pelle.

The ex-Feyenoord front-man joined Shandong in the summer of 2016 in a £13 million deal after an impressive two seasons with Southampton. Pelle, 32, departed for China with a year remaining on his deal at St Mary’s and is now reported to be one of the world’s best paid footballers at his current club.

It’s claimed by Di Marzio that Pelle’s wages would be a stumbling block in any potential deal, which is unsurprising given how lucrative a contract the towering striker is claimed to have signed.
