# Bordeaux interested in Diafra Sakho

West Ham striker Diafra Sakho is wanted by Ligue 1 side Bordeaux, and the French side are expected to make an offer for the player in the coming days, according to a report from [sportwitness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/west-ham-forward-ligue-1-sides-january-shortlist-turn-sooner-rather-later/).

Sakho, 28, nearly left for Rennes in Ligue 1 in the summer, however, the move was blocked by the Hammers, as they needed him as backup when Slaven Bilic was still in charge at the London Stadium.

With David Moyes now in charge of the club, Sakho may get his wish, this time with Bordeaux as they look to bolster their attacking options during the current January window.

The French club are also looking at Newcastle striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, however, they believe they cannot reach the players wage demands.

Sakho looks like a more realistic signing for Bordeaux during the current window, with the player currently not a regular in Moyes’ Premier League starting line-up.
