West Ham have enquired about the availability of Everton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, according to the Mirror.
David Moyes is targeting two central midfielders in the new year and has set his sights on both Schneiderlin and Harry Arter.
William Carvalho remains a long-term transfer target for the Hammers but Schneiderlin could be viewed as a cheaper alternative to the Portuguese midfielder.
Everton themselves are in the market for another central midfielder with Steven N’Zonzi touted as a possible transfer target for the Toffees.

Should Everton complete a deal for the former Stoke man then Schneiderlin could be allowed to move on to pastures new.
The 28-year-old has been in and out of the Everton squad this season, making 11 starts in the Premier League so far.
The Frenchman came in for criticism from Everton fans recently after claims he had been sent home from training for not trying hard enough.
