# Jose Fonte has operation and will be out for a few months

West Ham defender Jose Fonte had had had an operation on his injured foot and he is expected to be out of action for somewhere between two and three months.

Fonte picked up the injury during the draw at Selhurst Park on on October 28th and as such, he won’t be available for selection by new boss David Moyes until the New Year.

Moyes’ first job at West Ham will be to sort out the leaky defence as the Hammers have conceded 23 goals in just 11 Premier League games, more than any side in the division.

He’d have liked to have been able to have a full selection of players available to him but he’ll have to do without his Portuguese international defender for the start of his spell in charge at the London Stadium.
