# Bilic expected to be sacked

Slaven Bilic has said that he expected to be sacked by West Ham, as he speaks for the first time since leaving the club.

Bilic was relieved of his duties on Monday morning, with David Moyes expected to take charge until the end of the season.

Former Bayern Munich manager Carlo Ancelotti was approached to take the job, but Moyes is now set to take the reigns until next summer.

West Ham made their move after Bilic’s side lost 4-1 to Liverpool at the weekend, with the club sat 18th in the Premier League table.

Bilic had been at the club for over two years before being given the sack this week.

However, he says that he expected the decision after recent poor results.

[Speaking to The Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/slaven-bilic-breaks-silence-west-11475580), Bilic said this:

> I’m sad and disappointed but not in the club.

> I expected it to be fair. It is a move that clubs are usually doing. There are no hard feelings. As time goes by I’m sure I will be proud of my work here.

> We didn’t start this crucial season well. We had a really good, or great, or very good first season, then the second season we knew was going to be a difficult one in a transition to move to the new stadium and all the difficulties we had.
