# Hernandez likely to feature against Brighton

West Ham look set to be fielding their £16m summer signing Javier Hernandez tomorrow night against Brighton with the striker poised to overcome a hamstring injury.

The Mexican pulled up in training on Tuesday with a hamstring injury and was sent off for a scan to determine the severity but it appears to be a minor issue if anything, and [Hernandez has a 75% chance of being involved](https://www.football.london/west-ham-united-fc/players/west-ham-chicharito-martinez-brighton-13783841) tomorrow.

Slaven Bilic is already without the suspended Andy Carroll and the potential absence of Hernandez would’ve been a real blow to the Hammers but he’s relieved that the former Manchester United striker is likely to feature tomorrow after training this morning.

In his pre-match press conference later this afternoon, Bilic, is expected to address Hernandez’s status and whether he will play against Brighton.

Hernandez’s likely inclusion means no first-team call-up yet for Toni Martinez who has 23 goals in 26 games for the U23 side, including a hat-trick last time out against Manchester United U23s. He remains with the Development Squad for the time being.
