# Galatasaray to rival West Ham for Asamoah

West Ham are set to face competition from Galatasaray in their pursuit of Juventus midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah.

[Reports](https://readwestham.com/2017/10/06/west-ham-linked-january-move-kwadwo-asamoah/) have recently stated that the Hammers are targeting a move for the versatile Juve man, who is out of contract with the Serie A champions at the end of the season.

Asamoah will be free to discuss a move away when the January transfer window opens, and will be allowed to sign a pre-contract agreement ahead of the summer transfer window.

However, if West Ham are to pursue their reported interest in Asamoah, they may need to fend off Galatasaray, who are long-term admirers of the Ghanaian.

Speaking to Turkish media outlet Fanatik, as cited by [talkSPORT](https://talksport.com/football/transfer-report-galatasaray-make-new-offer-west-ham-target-kwadwo-asamoah-january), Galatasaray president Dursun Ozbek confirmed that his side will make a new bid for Asamoah when the January transfer window opens.

> In the end Juventus didn’t want to let him go. We already had an agreement with Asamoah, and we’ll repeat our offer during the winter transfer window.

The 28-year-old can play all across the midfield and has previously featured as a left-back for Juventus during his tenure at the club.
