# Slaven Bilic safe until the end of the season

Despite talk of him getting the chop is results take a turn for the worse, again, it appears Slaven Bilic has the backing of the Board for the short-term at least.

The [Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/west-ham-boss-slaven-bilic-11270566) note that the West Ham hierarchy plan on letting Bilic ride out the rest of the season before making a decision on his future as manager.

Booed off at half-time by the fans that chant his name, Bilic picked up a potentially job-saving three points on Saturday as Diafra Sakho, who replaced Javier Hernandez in the second half which perplexed the thousands in attendance, netted a last-gasp winner to salvage what was otherwise a pretty abysmal display.

The win moves the Hammers out of the relegation zone but the team, who reverted to a 4-4-2 on Saturday, looked devoid of ideas and simply aren’t playing with any rhyme of rhythm.

West Ham’s next three Premier League games do offer a cause for optimism. First, they travel to Burnley after the international break before welcoming Brighton to the London Stadium, finishing off with a feisty London derby against a struggling Crystal Palace side. Three winnable fixtures on the horizon hand Bilic a chance to really silence the doubters or a shovel to dig his grave with.

Either way, the Board aren’t planning to sack him yet and will wait until May before making their decision. Fitting, as the Croat’s contract expires at the end of the season and if they continue to struggle the move to jettison the former centre-back will have been made for them, much like it was with Sam Allardyce before him when they opted not to renew his contract either.

There’s an overwhelming sense from the fans that they want Bilic, one of their own, to excel and do well, but lacklustre performances and baffling tactical decisions seem to have their patience wearing thin.
