# Emails confirm West Ham made Carvalho offer

Sky Sports have released two emails that appear to confirm that West Ham made offers for Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho.

The emails appear to show that West Ham chairman David Sullivan did send an offer to Sporting, which was valued at £23m – in three instalments.

The email also shows that West Ham offered a 10% clause in the contract allowing Sporting to profit if West Ham ever decided to sell him in the future.

This all comes after Sporting claimed Sullivan was lying when he released a statement claiming Sporting had accepted an offer.

Sullivan said on the West Ham website that Sporting had accepted an offer on deadline day but there was not enough time to complete a deal.

Sporting then hit back, claiming that West Ham did not make an offer for the midfielder – with their sporting director calling David Gold and David Sullivan “the Dildo brothers”.
