# West Ham target Jota signs for Birmingham

West Ham target Jota has signed for Championship side Birmingham City, it has been confirmed.

Jota has joined Harry Redknapp’s side for a club-record £6m from Brentford, having been heavily linked with a move to West Ham earlier this month.

The winger went as far to agree terms to a move to West Ham, but the club were unable to iron out a fee with Brentford.

Birmingham have now swooped in and completed a deadline day deal to sign the attacker.

West Ham look set to see out deadline day without completing a signing, as they struggled to sort out deals for William Carvalho and Andre Gomes earlier this week.

Slaven Bilic was keen to add one more big name to his squad before the end of the window, but will not be able to as it stands.
