# West Ham in talks to sign Alexandre Mlinde

West Ham are certainly a body short in attack at the moment and are making a move to sign a highly-rated striker to amend that.

According to French source [Foot Mercato](https://www.footmercato.net/flash-mercato/info-fm-west-ham-se-penche-sur-mlinde_209182), the Hammers are in talks with French amateur side AS Minguettes regarding a deal to sign their talented teenage striker Alexandre Mlinde.

Mlinde is relatively unknown on the senior circuit but has made a name for himself with Minguettes in the suburbs of Lyon, scoring 21 goals in 22 games last season, and 35 goals the year before, an impressive return regardless of the level of competition.

West Ham are in talks with the club and Mlinde’s representatives over a deal to bring him to English football where he would likely team up with the U23 squad.

The Hammers have a number of promising talents in their ranks including Toni Martinez, Declan Rice and Nathan Holland and the addition of Mlinde would provide even more competition.
