One year on: West Ham’s dismal summer of 2016

Cast your minds back to the end of the 2015/16 season.

The Hammers had just completed arguably their best ever Premier League season, qualifying for the Europa League in the process and things were looking good as we prepared to move into our new stadium.

Moving forward as a club means bringing in better calibre of players into the squad to maintain that growth and West Ham signed no fewer than 12 players last summer to help take them to the next level.

What transpired would end up being regarded as one of the club’s worst summers in terms of signings and we sit here, more or less than a year on, with seven of those 12 players no longer at the club.

We look back at those 12 players and assess their year at the club.
