# West Ham end their interest in Olivier Giroud

West Ham are back to square one in their search for a new striker after pulling out of talks to sign Olivier Giroud from Arsenal, reports Kaveh Solhekol and Sky Sports.

After snubbing a move for Kelechi Iheanacho because he wasn’t proven enough, West Ham turned their attentions to Olivier Giroud who has fallen down the Arsenal pecking order following the arrival of Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon.

The Hammers were hopeful that they could secure a £20m deal for the former Montpellier standout but it’s understood that the London Stadium is not Giroud’s preferred destination if he was to leave Arsenal this summer.

Lyon, Marseille and Everton have all also been linked with a move for the France international this summer.

West Ham aren’t remotely close to bringing in a new striker this summer with the likes of Javier Hernandez and Andre Gray reportedly high on Slaven Bilic’s wishlist.
