# West Ham linked with Sturaro move

West Ham are being linked with a move for Juventus midfielder Stefano Sturaro, but could face competition from Everton for his signature.

The Italian giants are said to be keen to narrow down their options, with the squad becoming somewhat overcrowded. This could lead to the sale of fringe players such as Sturaro.

Once labelled as the next big thing in Italy, Sturaro hasn’t quite lived up to expectations. He made just 21 appearances in Serie A last term and failed to really establish himself as a first-team regular under Max Allegri.

Despite this though, he is an undoubtedly gifted player and would certainly benefit from first-team football on a consistent basis, something that Tuttosport (h/t [Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/everton-west-ham-keen-juventus-midfielder-old-lady-look-trim-squad/)) claim that West Ham will be ready to provide.

The Hammers need to speed up their summer dealings and a move for Sturaro would certainly be a statement of intent as they approach the 2017/18 campaign.
