# West Ham reject bid for Valencia

West Ham have rejected a bid from Tigres to sign Enner Valencia.

According to a report from [Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11685/10929141/enner-valencia-transfer-bid-rejected-by-west-ham) today, the Hammers have turned down the Mexican outfit’s first approach to sign the Ecuador international.

It’s likely that Valencia will depart London this summer and seek pastures new but if Tigres are keen to offer him an escape route to Mexico, they will need to up their initial offer.

Valencia spent the majority of last season on loan with Ronald Koeman’s Everton, where he showed glimpses of quality but yet again failed to convince.

Ever since his move from Pachuca back in 2014, he has not really adapted to the Premier League’s demands, and the Hammers are looking poised to make a considerable loss from their £12.5m move for the striker.

West Ham remain keen to offload Valencia this summer, with potential suitors circling, but they will let him go only if the right sum of money is coughed up.
