# West Ham set to miss out on Djourou

West Ham are set to miss out on target and former Arsenal defender Johan Djourou, as he looks set to sign for Montpellier, according to reports from [talkSPORT](https://talksport.com/football/former-arsenal-man-johan-djourou-set-complete-montpellier-move-despite-west-ham-interest).

Djourou has been at Hamburg for four years after he left Arsenal and has enjoyed stints as captain of the German club, for which he has racked up 94 Bundesliga appearances over the course of three seasons.

The Swiss central defender dropped down the pecking order at the Bundesliga side towards the end of the previous campaign and there have been reports that West Ham may make a move for him this summer.

Djourou, 30, has plenty of experience of playing in the Premier League, making over 100 appearances for Arsenal and Birmingham in England’s top division.

However, according to Montpellier newspaper Midi Libre, the Switzerland international will sign a two-year deal with the French side when he returns from his current end of season holiday.
