# Newcastle rival West Ham for Adama Traore

West Ham were at one point alone in their pursuit of Adama Traore, that was until Chelsea made their interest known in the Spaniard, but now another Premier League side are preparing a move.

According to the [Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4628928/Liverpool-keen-Napoli-s-Faouzi-Ghoulam.html), Rafa Benitez wants to bring the Middlesbrough attacker to Newcastle this summer as he looks to bolster his squad following their promotion from the Championship last season.

The 21-year-old winger has spent the last two seasons in the Premier League, first with Aston Villa and then last season with Middlesbrough and endured relegations in both campaigns.

Yet to fully realise his potential, Adama is one of the most naturally gifted athletes in the Premier League in terms of his pace and trickery, but does lack an end product at the moment, providing just one assist and scoring no goals last season.

Following their relegation, Middlesbrough are said to be open to the idea of selling the former Barcelona academy graduate and will look for offers in excess of £8m from either West Ham, Chelsea or Newcastle before allowing him to leave.
