# Christian Benteke back on West Ham’s radar

West Ham were among those interested in signing Christian Benteke last summer from Liverpool.

The Belgian centre-forward was made available for transfer but the Hammers pursued other targets and the former Aston Villa man signed for Crystal Palace in a £30m deal and scored 15 goals in 36 Premier League games – more goals than all of West Ham strikers combined.

One year on, and the Hammers are still looking for a striker and are again considering making an approach for Christian Benteke, say [Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/transfer-centre).

It’s unlikely that Crystal Palace will want to offload their record signing just one year after his arrival and off the back of a very productive season, but his future, along with those of a number of players following the resignation of Sam Allardyce remains uncertain.

In addition, the new manager may want to go in a different direction and look to sell Benteke, but we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it.

Slaven Bilic wants to spend big on a striker and with a deal for Kelechi Iheanacho stalling, he’s drawing up a shortlist of alternatives.
