# Kwadwo Asamoah wanted by West Ham and Southampton

West Ham are in the market for just a handful of statement signings this summer who can improve the first-team.

Slaven Bilic hasn’t always been successful recruiting players from the Italian market but he has his eyes set on Juventus’ utility man Kwadwo Asamoah, according to [Calciomercato](https://www.calciomercato.com/news/juve-sirene-inglesi-per-asamoah-83133).

Asamoah has spent the majority of his career playing in either a left-back or left midfield role but is equally comfortable in central areas and has played in all three positions for Udinese and Juventus during his time in Serie A.

The Hammers are keen on making a bid for the 28-year-old but face stiff competition from Southampton and Super Lig side Galatasaray for his signature.

Out of contract at the end of next season, Asamoah has seen his role in the Juve squad diminish recently and Galatasaray are preparing a £3.35m bid for the Ghanaian.

West Ham were sold dreams when they brought in Simone Zaza from Juventus last summer – Asamoah can’t be worse if he joined, could he?
