# Iheanacho deal reportedly stalled due to buy-back clause

West Ham’s interest in Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho has been well documented over the course of the last couple of weeks.

A bid has been submitted for the Nigerian and it’s clear to see that West Ham are keen to bring him to the London Stadium this summer.

However, according to a report from [Own Goal Nigeria](https://owngoalnigeria.com/2017/06/05/revealed-the-amount-west-ham-are-proposing-to-man-city-as-buy-back-fee-for-iheanacho/), the Hammers and City are struggling to come to an agreement over the transfer’s prospected buy-back clause.

It’s stated in the report that Pep Guardiola’s side are demanding that they have the option to re-sign Iheanacho for a fee of £30m, which is not too much more than what West Ham would likely sign the striker for.

However, the Hammers are insisting that the buy-back clause should be worth £40m as they attempt to reach a positive conclusion in the negotiations.

City are claimed to want the clause to be active for a duration of four years, whereas West Ham only want the possibility to last for two-and-a-half years.

It looks as though there’s much more to come in this ongoing transfer saga.
