West Ham capped a rollercoaster season with a win yesterday as they swept aside Burnley at Turf Moor on the final day of the campaign.
The Hammers haven’t been in the best of form and needed to bounce back from their crushing defeat against Liverpool last Sunday with a win against the Clarets, and they failed to disappoint.
However, it wasn’t the best of starts for West Ham and they found themselves needing to overturn a one-goal deficit. Sam Vokes handed Burnley the lead with a well-taken finish within the first 25 minutes.
Despite this, West Ham’s spirits were not dampened and Sofiane Feghouli bounced back almost immediately to level proceedings and sent the two teams in at the break level.
It was the Hammers who took all three points home in the end, as Andre Ayew was on hand to nod home from close range in the second-half to secure a 2-1 win.
