What could West Ham’s team look like in five years?

It has been a difficult year for West Ham. The move to the London Stadium has not gone as smoothly as everyone hoped, the Dimitri Payet saga rocked the club in January and, quite simply, the performances on the pitch have been below par for the majority of the season.

One thing that has remained stubbornly optimistic, however, is the future of the club, specifically the playing staff.

While investment in the first team has been substandard at best, the youth additions to the squad have been, on a whole, fantastic.

Terry Westley has got a very talented group of players on his hands, which is proven in their push for promotion to the PL2 Division One this season, despite many of the best youngsters spending the season out on loan.

Combine these players with others who are currently in the first team and an exciting team begins to take shape. With that in mind, this is what a West Ham team could look like in five years time, using only the players who are currently playing for the club.
