# West Ham considering a move for Paolo Hurtado

West Ham will be in the market for more attacking midfield talent in the summer and reportedly have their eyes on someone from the Championship.

According to Portuguese outlet [A Bola](https://www.abola.pt/nnh/ver.aspx?id=668736), West Ham are considering a summer move for Reading midfielder Paolo Hurtado, but face competition from Bournemouth for his signature.

Hurtado made his name in his native Peru with Alianza Lima which helped earn him a move to Portugal with Pacos Ferreira in the summer of 2012.

Capped 28 times by Peru, Hurtado netted 13 goals in 72 games for Pacos Ferreira before joining Reading in August 2015 but was unable to settle in English football, making just six appearances before being loaned back to Liga NOS with Vitoria Guimaraes the following January.

He’s been productive with Guimaraes, scoring 10 goals in 42 appearances over the last 18 months.

Hurtado was unable to settle in English football once before and a move for him in the summer does raise some questions.
