# West Ham set to go back in for Kone

West Ham have been leaking a lot of goals throughout the course of the season and it’s been clear to see that defensive reinforcements are required this summer.

One man that seems to have been perennially linked with a move to the London Stadium is Sunderland’s central defender Lamine Kone, and it looks as though the Hammers will make a move for him yet again this summer, according to the [Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/west-ham-ready-resurrect-lamine-10207594).

Slaven Bilic looked to bring the 28-year-old to the club last summer but failed in his pursuit, with the Black Cats keen to keep hold of their prized defensive asset.

However, Kone has not been in the best form this season and with Sunderland rooted to the foot of the table, he could move on if they get relegated.

Jose Fonte has failed to solve West Ham’s defensive issues, so it comes as no surprise to see the club linked with bringing other centre-backs in this summer.
