# West Ham target move for 22 goal Bundesliga striker

West Ham are interested in signing powerful Cologne striker Anthony Modeste.

According to the [Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/arsenals-calum-chambers-transfer-radars-1014), the Hammers are interested in the former Blackburn man, who has enjoyed a prolific campaign in the Bundesliga this season.

The Hammers have held an interest in the striker for some time and are ready to try and sign the striker again this summer.

Modeste has scored 24 goals in all competitions this season, with Cologne sixth in the Bundesliga, fighting for a place in the Europa League next season.

Slaven Bilic will be hoping to sign a striker this summer as the club seek reinforcement in the attacking department.

The club have largely depended on Andy Carroll this season, but the England international has struggled for fitness throughout the campaign.

The 28-year-old endured an unsuccessful loan spell in the Premier League back in 2012 with Blackburn Rovers, where he failed to score in nine appearances.
