# Fenerbahce rival West Ham for Mario Mandzukic

West Ham’s never-ending search for a striker has come full circle as they appear to be ready to revisit a move for Mario Mandzukic in the summer.

After being told he wasn’t for sale last summer and settling for his incompetent team-mate Simone Zaza, the Hammers have renewed belief that they can land the 30-year-old this time around.

Mandzukic has been a regular for Juventus this season, starting 21 Serie A games but has found the net just five times and has been out-performed by his team-mates.

The Croatian worked with Slaven Bilic during their time together when Bilic was the Croatian national team manager and he remains a big fan of the forward today.

According to the Turkish outlet [Fotomac](https://www.fotomac.com.tr/galeri/fenerbahce/zagrebte-mandzukic-zirvesi?page=6), Fenerbahce have met with Mandzukic’s agent Ivan Cvjetkovic in Zagreb, offering competition to West Ham for his signature.

The former Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid striker has been tight-lipped over his plans for next season but it would take a very lucrative offer to tempt him to east London.
