# David Gold: If fans want me to go, I’ll go

Following a turbulent season, the fans have spoken out in their minority against the board and the ownership.

There are sections of the fanbase who would like to see David Gold and David Sullivan sell the club, while others believe the solution is for the pair to dig a little deeper into their pockets.

West Ham’s transfer business over the last 12 months has been questionable to say the least with reports suggesting that a number of the players brought in last summer will be offloaded at the end of the season.

In addition, there’s an overwhelming demand from the fans to see the ownership show Slaven Bilic significant financial backing, including the signing of a big money striker, something that was promised last summer but failed to materialise.

Speaking on Twitter this afternoon, David Gold was asked by a fan if he would leave the club if the fans wanted a change of ownership, to which he replied:

> Twitter: If 86% of West Ham fans voted for me to go I would go I don’t want to be where I’m not wanted. dg https://t.co/4NuPuKEM6P (@davidgold)

There is a history behind fans revolting against the ‘SuGo’ ownership from their time at Birmingham when the fans voted in a majority for Gold and Sullivan to sell the club.

The David’s have spent over seven years in charge of the Hammers, saving the club from the brink of administration in 2010 and oversaw their greatest Premier League season in two decades last term.
