# Gokhan Tore looking forward to his return to Besiktas

It’s not been a season to remember for Gokhan Tore.

West Ham shelled out £2.5m to bring him in on a season-long loan from Besiktas because of the links with Slaven Bilic who was able to unlock his potential during their time together in Turkey.

However, the winger struggled early on in the season and was berated by Hammers fans for every wrong move he made.

Tore made eight disappointing appearances in the early months of the season before suffering a knee cartilage injury in training in October which has sidelined him since.

The Hammers tried to send Tore back to Besiktas in January by cancelling his loan but the Turkish club wouldn’t take him while he was injured, leaving West Ham with the burden of keeping him for the rest of the season.

Speaking to Turkish media, as quoted by [Sporx](https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2017/03/15/west-ham-flop-gokhan-tore-confirms-his-besiktas-aim/%20http://www.sporx.com/gokhan-tore-gelecek-sezon-besiktastayim-SXHBQ612428SXQ), Tore is looking forward to getting back to 100% and start playing football for Besiktas.

“It is hard to be apart from Besiktas. This team will achieve important goals in Europe and the Super Lig.

“My injury has passed and I continue to work. I am going to be a much better Tore. I would do anything to go back to Besiktas and find my form.”

Tore was part of a poor summer transfer window for the Hammers last year and it’s fair to say the club will not be exercising their £10m buying option on his loan deal.
